Made In Italy Ristorante: A Hidden Gem for Authentic Sicilian Cuisine in Totowa

Authentic Sicilian. Everyone in our party loved their dish

One of my favorite local places. Italian restaurants in this area are a dime a dozen. All the food is above average, but all the menus are exactly the same. It’s difficult to find a place that cooks Italian style dishes, but is daring enough to offer a menu unlike anything you can find elsewhere. If you are looking for a casual dining experience with authentic Italian dishes not offered anywhere else then I highly recommend Made in Italy. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine, and try something delicious you can’t find anywhere else.

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and friendly staff. Everything is fresh and the service was good. Seems to be a local favorite with groups of friends having lunch, coffee and pastries, a nice community feel. Ask about the specials for the day. I will be back and it is a BYOB !

Came here with a friend and we had a great time. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed with smiling faces. We were asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside, since it was a nice day we opted for outside. The waiter, Joe came right out and took our drink order. When he returned with our drinks he came out with their bread, which he let us know is homemade. The weather got a little windy and we asked if we could sit inside. They were very accommodating and even let us choose where we wanted to sit. When our food came out everything was spectacular. Joe came back out with more bread for us, which was amazing! This time it was right out of the oven. By the time it was time for dessert Joe made some recommendations and he did not disappoint. And of course I had to have my cup of cappuccino. This place was beyond amazing and I wish I was able to give it more stars then just five stars.

1st time in Made In Italy Ristorante. From the minute we got there we saw a fantastic atmosphere with friendly servers and large plates coming out. We were welcomed by various staff members which was a surprise (not common nowadays for sure). Needless to say, the food was excellent, each dish more outstanding than the previous one. Customers never stopped showing up, so make your reservations ASAP! PS: Parking lot was full but cars kept coming out of their spots continuously so we didn’t have to wait at all. We will return here.

Wow! We just so happened to stumble across Made In Italy last night. We walked in were told to pick a table we wanted. We started with the mussels in red sauce. They were some of the best mussels I have ever had. The texture was perfect and the red sauce delicious. We then had their version of bruschetta just as delicious. The bread wasn't super crunchy if that is something you worry about. It sits on top of some fresh prosciutto and the flavors are fantastic. My husband ordered the Made in Italy Gnocchi again, the consistency and texture were perfect. He said there was no way he could eat it all, yeah well he did! I ordered the Fettuccini Bolognese and I asked for some cheese on the side. You could tell the fettuccini was home made. Again delicious and a very nice size portion I ate it for dinner and already two portions for leftovers today for lunch. My daughter had a pasta dish as well which she absolutely loved but I cannot recall the name of it. We looked at the dessert menu just to see, but there was no way we were eating another thing. Great benefit is it is a BYOB so you can select whatever you want to bring with you to drink. There were what sounded and looked like amazing chicken, veal and fish items on the menu as well. Being that we have just recently moved back in to town, we will be going again here soon!

I can't say enough good things about this place. Some of the best salmon I have ever had. The risotto was astounding! The service was exceptional, very attentive and changed the silverware after every course. I drove 40 minutes to get here for an event and I will gladly drive back for dinner. Come here for dinner and thank me later.

Loved every element of this dining experience! Food is carefully (dare I say lovingly) prepared. Simple, yet creative. Early on, table talk focused on when we were coming back!
